The purpose of Knowledge Exchange is to develop digital infrastructures and services for the benefit of research and higher education.

Secretariat

DeiC (Danish e-infrastructure Cooperation) was established in 2012 as an organization under the Danish Ministry of Education and Research.

The new organization was the result of a merger of the supercomputing activities within the DCSC (Danish Center for Scientific Computing) and the national research and education network known as Forskningsnettet. The latter belonged to the Technical University of Denmark and was run by UNI-C.

The Trusted Introducer Service forms the trusted backbone of infrastructure services and serves as clearinghouse for security and incident response teams. It lists well known teams and accredits as well as certifies teams according to their demonstrated and checked level of maturity.

Trusted Introducer is a service under the TF-CSIRT.

DKCERT, the security incident handling organization of DeiC is accredited by Trusted Introducer since 2002.

TF-CSIRT (Task Force Computer Security Incident Response Teams) is a task force under the European research and education networking organization GÉANT. Its members are organizations handling security incidents.

TF-CSIRT allows members to meet with other similar organizations and discuss topics of common interest. TF-CSIRT also arranges training and promotes the use of common standards and procedures for handling security incidents.

DeiC is represented in TF-CSIRT via DKCERT.

The objective of PLAN-e is to bring together leading influential e-Science centres across Europe to help coordinate ongoing innovation in scientific methods and exploitation of infrastructure.

The goals of PLAN-E cover all the topics that help promoting the escience approach and strengthening the groups and centers conducting escience

DeiC is represented in PLAN-E by head of center of competences Lene Krøl Andersen and head of development Rene Belsø.

E-IRG is an advisory eScience infrastructure expert group established and financed by the European collaboration.

The members are typically a representative of the national computing-related research infrastructure (networking, supercomputing and/or storage), and a representative of the national research political administration.

The e-IRG facilitates workshops about networks and computing-related infrastructure and publishes periodical strategy recommendations. A number of otehr articles and task force reports are also published.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is an international member-based organisation focused on the development of infrastructure and community activities to reduce the social and technical barriers to data sharing and re-use and to promote the acceleration of data driven innovation and discovery worldwide.

RDA Europe, the European plug-in to RDA, is mandated to ensure that European political, research, industrial and digital infrastructure stakeholders are aware of, engaged with and actively involved in the global RDA activities.

NeIC (Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration) develops and operates in e-infrastructure solutions in areas of common Nordic interest. NeIC is a distributed organization comprised of technical experts from high performance computing centers within the Nordic countries.

The collaboration began in 2003. Since 2012 NeIC has been a part of NordForsk, a research organization under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
