PLAN-E (Platform of National eScience/Data Research Centers in Europe)

The objective of PLAN-e is to bring together leading influential e-Science centres across Europe to help coordinate ongoing innovation in scientific methods and exploitation of infrastructure.

The goals of PLAN-E cover all the topics that help promoting the escience approach and strengthening the groups and centers conducting escience

DeiC is represented in PLAN-E by head of center of competences Lene Krøl Andersen and head of development Rene Belsø.

The eScience Committee

The eScience committee advises the DeiC Board about development and activities within e-infrastructure and the DeiC eScience Competence Center.

The members were appointed by the board after recommendation from the universities in November 2013. The committee mandate runs until the end of 2016.

eScience Competence Center Activities

Especially in the humanities and social sciences area, but also within the scientific and technical field, it is estimated that there is generally a huge untapped potential to achieve research results through the use of eScience.

The task of the Competence Center is to gather information about and examples of eScience, nationally and internationally and coordinate the dissemination of this knowledge nationally and ensure assistance for researchers to get started with eScience projects.
