International HPC facilities
EuroHPC
EuroHPC is a joint project between the EU, the European countries and a number of private partners, which from 2021 will result in 3 pre-exascal supercomputers.
These are the LUMI computer in Finland, Leonardo in Italy and the MareNostrum 5 in Spain.
The collaboration will pool European and national resources to create supercomputer results and a state-of-the-art data infrastructure. The advantage of working across borders is that an economical and competitive HPC ecosystem can be constructed, and allow the acquisition and operation of the supercomputers as well as the associated services and applications.
The EU and its 28 countries have also signed the EuroHPC Declaration pledging to invest in world-class supercomputers.
DeiC coordinates the Danish participation in EuroHPC and Danish researchers' access to resources at LUMI.
LUMI is an abbreviation for "Large Unified Modern Infrastructure", and will be located in CSC's data center in Kajaani, Finland. The countries in the LUMI consortium are Finland, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland.

PRACE
On behalf of Denmark, DeiC is a member of the European PRACE collaboration on large HPC resources. PRACE is an abbreviation for "Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe", and Danish researchers can apply for access to the resources through the annual calls from the organization.
PRACE has its headquarter in Brussels, Belgium, while the supercomputers are located in various member countries, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland.
